This plugin places a CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing to tell Computers from Humans Apart) input on the login screen that is used to detect whether or not a human is attempting to log in. This helps prevent automated login attacks.

  • Added ability to hide/show the CAPTCHA input only for users at certain IP addresses (or in IP address ranges)

  • Fix PHP notices under PHP 5.3.0 with b2evo, hec and hn_captcha
  • Added ability to store main configuration file in main SquirrelMail config directory (NOTE that any modified backend configuration files are still kept in the associated backend directory within this plugin)
  • Added information in Squirrel Logger event that indicates when *NO* input for the CAPTCHA was given
  • Fixed b2evo backend to prevent easy cracking of the CAPTCHA value based on the image name - thanks to Guillaume Degoulet
  • Use SM's more thorough secure connection detection in reCAPTCHA backend
  • Use improved sq_is_writable() in some backends
  • Use improved sqsetcookie() instead of setcookie()

  • Untarring problems: Your browser might have un-gzipped it for you automatically. Try just "tar xvf" instead of "tar xvfz". Also, the plugins archive isn't gzipped (it is a tarball of .tar.gz files)
  • Macintosh users: Just hold down your mouse button to get the menu instead of right-clicking.
