How can I set the default translation for SquirrelMail?

Edit data/default_pref and add this line

<code>

language=en_EN (actual squirrelmail version)

language=en (squirrelmail version ?)

</code>

But replace the 'en_EN' with the 2-letter code for the language you want (for example, de_DE = Deutsch, es_ES = Spanish). You can find all codes here: http://lcweb.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/langhome.html

2005-09-25, Klaus: the Debian package with SquirrelMail 1.4.x asks me to configure the locales. The list shows entries like "[ ] en_US ISO-8859-1" and [ ] en_US.ISO-8859-15 ISO-8859-15" The link above does answer to me which option to choose. Maybe somebody could write more detailed information about this installation question here?
