Email forwarding for sendmail (or other MTA) that has support for standard .forward files and/or MySQL-support. This plugin is really two merged into one.
  1. You can use it as a simple interface to edit your .forward file. With optional support for keeping a local copy.
  2. You can use it to edit forwarding information stored in a MySQL database. This requires that you have a MTA that has support for this.
Please: Read the README and install files. Before installing. This plugin is now hosted as part of the SM Plugin project on SourceForge.net. CVS version can be found here.

This plugin is up for adoption. If you want to maintain it, please contact the SM Pugins Project at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sm-plugins.

  • Added changes suggested by Michael Chan to have one ring^H^H^H^Hway to make local forwarding that is common to all(??) MTA.
    Tested with Courier and Sendmail.

    • Added a quick fix for Max OS X users. The C-compiler shiped with OS X needed -traditional-cpp . Bug found by Joseph Delaney.

    Description: * If no e-mail address are given the wfwd program will delete the .forward file
    * By default the wfwd program can only be run correctly by a user specified in compile time (See install for more details)
    * A user can specify multiple address to forward to. Separated by space " "

    For system that runs Courier-MTA the administrator can enable the possibility to save a local copy o the mail being forwarded.
    I'm working on getting this function ported to other MTA:s as well. Help with this is highly appreciated.

  • Untarring problems: Your browser might have un-gzipped it for you automatically. Try just "tar xvf" instead of "tar xvfz". Also, the plugins archive isn't gzipped (it is a tarball of .tar.gz files)
  • Macintosh users: Just hold down your mouse button to get the menu instead of right-clicking.
